Stumped for ideas on blog posts, my friend Kelly suggested I post a roundup of favorite things.

This started me thinking that it would be ok  to write about “real life” more often.

There is more to the gardener than just her garden!

Here are 5 things that make me happy.

Our new Kitchen. 

Can you believe it’s almost been a year since demolition? September 15.

I wake up every day thankful that we were able to do this renovation.

We have lightened up the space making it less complicated and definitely not dark!!

It is a whole lot more functional and circulates better for entertaining since we are now empty nesters.

(ugh, are there other words? )

holding our hands through the process.

Diet Orange Crush.

The sweet Smith gene is inescapable!

So to curb that sweet tooth I snatched one of Robert’s thirst quenching Diet Orange Crush.

Yes, soda and yes, diet. Don’t judge.

Southern Lady Magazine

This Southern Lady “Settings” issue was divine. Some of the photos inspired my mother’s birthday tea last week.

We had champagne in coupe glasses reminiscent of earlier Mimi years.

Legend has it that the coupe glass was modeled on Marie Antoinette’s breast!

lol.

They drink champagne in coupe glasses on MadMen, too. Another of my favorite things.

Please don’t spoil this for me!

We are in season 4.

Betty is so undeserving of him.

Yep he is a scoundrel, but that is why I keep watching!!!

Thai Tuna aka Cat food

This is Thai tuna on a pretty plate. The tuna comes out of a foil package.

My friend Neisha (Nee-sha) calls it cat food.

I love it when I have time to put it on a pretty plate with a bed of arugula and maybe some watercress.

But I will eat it right out of the pouch.

The pretty plates came out because of the Southern Lady magazine.

They have been collecting dust at mama’s house.

Well, that’s it. I could have given you ten favorite things, but I want to go outside and do some gardening!
