Think Ahead.
Fall Planting: Bulbs
Most of you may be thinking about pansies, ornamental cabbage, violas, snapdragons and chrysanthemums, but it’s time for SPRING!
No, I haven’t been inhaling the floral glue!
Think ahead to spring and what you’d like to have blooming in your yard/garden for killer bouquets. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Tulips
- Daffodils
- Crocus
- Spanish Bluebells
- Allium (giant onion, so cool for kids to watch)
- Grape Hyacinth
- Early blooming varieties of Lilly
I have purchased bulbs from all 3 of these sources, and been completely satisfied. Try your local garden centers, too, but for more variety, you’ll need to order out!
Confused by all the choices? Order a mix of colors and varieties. You’ll have many choices for next fall..OH. Facebook friend, Brooke, reminded me that as you dig up bulbs now to spread around your garden, be sure to share some with a friend!
When you are ready to plant, P. Allen Smith has a good Bulb Planting 101 post for us.
see you
