Not that Christmas tree lots are trying to rip you off, the phrase sounds good because I am married to a lawyer!  Take your time before  loading your tree on top of the car or in the truck. I’ve returned many trees in my lifetime because they were “deader than dead” or simply could not fit it in the door(eyes bigger than living room)!
Check the “freshness” of your tree. Yes, they’ve been cut for at least a week and they are dead. Dead. Â You can still run your fingers over the branches to make sure they don’t drop off! Â Try your hand at deal making–don’t look too interested. Like buying a house, make a deal. Even if it’s 10 bucks, give it a shot.
Be extra choosy when picking a wreath for your door. If you are not signed up for Wreath Workshop (a few spots left!), then shop for the wreath. I’ve already checked out the lots and they run from $15 and up. You’ll not turn back once you’ve made your own though. Your wreath is your first impression, so splurge a bit.
Keep all fresh greenery as cool as possible or watered. Turning on the heat dries your tree, so make sure to keep water in the bowl. I buy a flocked tree, and the tree guys have convinced me that flocked trees don’t need water because of the glue  that holds the flocking material on the tree. What do you think?
Get out there, turn on the music, enjoy the moment.
see you
