Some friends are pros at garage saling, but Annie is tops when it comes to the twice a year sale at McCorkle’s Nursery in nearby Dearing, GA. I mean Annie taught me that you are nobody unless you are armed with the Southern Living Garden book whenever you shop for plants!
I joined Annie for the first time last summer, and learned a few lessons.
Here are FIVE tips if you plan to survive. These people are pros...
1. Â Make a list.Â
You must take a list with you otherwise it’s like going to the grocery store hungry. Look      at your yard. What do you really need? Take the Southern Living Garden Book with you–people will get out of your way!  This bit of pre-sale research will save you from buying shade loving plants when you don’t even have shade!
2. Â Take a cart.Â
You will look like an idiot if you don’t take a cart. Dig up the Rusty Red Rider or take the bright yellow utility cart–you’re gonna need it.
3. Â Â Cash, Check or Charge?Â
McCorkle’s has a line for each, but be prepared. Better yet, just take a wad of cash. Once you’ve spent it, it’s over.
4. Â Â Hat and Comfy Shoes.
UGH. With all the rain we’ve had here, you’d do good wearing a pair of old farm boots. I am not sure what to tell you with this except your shoes will get dirty! I may go barefoot.
5. Â Â Be prepared.Â
It may be rainy and overcast today and it all sounds great–saving all that money. Be prepared to baby those plants through the summer whether you plant them or not. It will get hot this summer and you’ll end up tending those plants one way or another.
OH.
I made a SIGN for this weekend. You’ll end up putting all your stuff into a pile on the cart and all around. Watch out for those sneaky men…see you there. ML

Is the sale this W/E? I went years ago and had a hard time finding it. This year I have a GPS.
Do know the time it starts? I have garden guest coming and we do not want to miss it.
Thanks Bj
