Roses, variegated pittosporum, Gerbera daisies, Fatsia and Monarda…wait. Monarda? Isn’t that bee balm? Yes! Where is it?
I am sure you recognized at least  2 or 3 components of the flower arrangement above, but perhaps not the Mondarda didyma (bee balm) or Gizmos’s gonads(thanks honey!).The main components of this arrangement– roses, variegated pittosporum, Gerbera daisies are The Little Black Dress(LBD), fine on its own, but add those Jimmy Choos -  the Fatsia and bee balm seed head- the arrangement becomes YOW-ZA!
Our bee balm is fading away, but tons of whimsy remains on the seed heads of this fun pollinator. Â There were a few straggly purple petals left, so I plucked them and voila! A little bit of tease that makes the Little Black Dress stand out in the crowd.
The Fatsia, hanging in the shady closet, lends a tropical, more exotic feel to the arrangement. Two local interior designers used Fatsia and simple Gerbera daisies to create visual appeal to a demo table this spring(pictured above). Our eyes are accustomed to seeing the daisies–a typical grocery store flower, but the Fatsia leaves all shined up really make the daisies stand up and POP! Yooooohhhoooo! Look at me!
As always, know that flowers and greenery have been proven to make us feel better. So bring out that Little Black Dress, but be sure to slip on those Jimmy Choos to make your simple arrangement turn heads!
See you later alligator!

Thanks for reading Anita! Yes, the P. Allen trip is one I’ve been envious of for about 2 years. Researching the ways in which to climb the ladder to be among his Top 10 Garden Bloggers and the Top 100 Garden Bloggers by search engines.
It seems comments and regular readers makes a big difference. Thinking I need to tease on Facebook with the climax here!!
Hope you are having a great summer. Kids just picked up their schedules…Sam AP World and Latin…I hope I can make it!
