What are you giving up for Lent? seems to be the question among my Catholic and some non-Catholic friends. Yes, some of you Baptists are along for the ride!
Since ice storm PAX a couple of weeks ago, then an earthquake immediately following, I’ve let go of some excess, continuing to focus more on the basic necessities in our daily life. Food need not be too fancy, clothes can be just comfy, and spending time with my people most important.
So, for seven weeks beginning March 13th, I’ve invited a group of ladies together to explore Jen Hatmaker’s book, ‘7 An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess’. Â Everyone I asked to join me on this mentioned that they, too, are ready for some change. Yes, we will linger a little longer after Lent with our final meeting near the ocean.
Simplicity. Focus.
Ready.
I am saying good bye to Facebook for these 7 weeks, but will stay right here on my blog with gardening fun, how we are coming along with our rebellion against excess, and daily updates of our Lenten journey.
Hope you will follow us here.

Any openings left in Lenten study group? Sounds interesting and inspiring.
