The Girls Trip to Charleston, SC this weekend was packed with gardens, shopping, walking, shopping. catching up and the most eye catching window boxes ever. And more shopping!
Charleston is the Southeast’s Capital for jam packed, overflowing, and splashy window boxes.  Hold on because I am about to share some of the South’s best window boxes as a prelude to the pictures I’ll share later of the Nature Conservancy/Spoleto “Behind the Garden Gate” tour.
Splashy bright color was a magnetizing force on our walking tour of Charleston gardens this weekend. Double petal petunias, bright blue Lobelia, dainty Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’ and a green and white coleus that is stunning. (If you know where I can purchase locally, please reply below!)
Variegated ivy, shade loving begonia teemed with soft cascading Lobelia ‘Magadi Blue with White Eye’ – a cheery unexpected guest in the window box above. Windows are not the only locale for these small baskets of beauty–notice the iron door!
Hats are IN! And so is hot color with just a spritz of chill by those green and white caladiums in the photo above.
Green and white combos never go out of style. White vinca is on trend all over Charleston–in the window boxes, cradling cedars in aged urns, and welcoming our walk up a narrow Charleston Garden Tour driveway. It’s going to be a hot summer- the elegance of green and white will keep your window boxes looking cool into fall.
Charleston is the runway for Southern girls to stay on trend with window box  fashion! Eye popping color, a variety of texture and shape, and cool elegance make a summer statement that is easy to create.
What’s the secret to these lush WOWZA window boxes?
I’ll share later.
See you and welcome to June!
