The only time I drink beer is in the summertime when it’s really hot and I am at a baseball game. My most recent tasting was at the local Green Jackets game and the brew was SweetWater Blue. Â The label even looks tasty to me!
Anyway, with the growing hype about craft beer and our recent trips to Asheville to seek out new indie brew pubs, hops has been on my brain!
Have you ever seen a hops plant in real life? Up close? They are amazing vines with the most interesting little green cone like “buds”.
I took this picture in Asheville. Our friends Jack and Vivian live on the side of a mountain there and have a neighbor who grows his own hops! And makes his own beer.
See how cool those buds are! Good picture too, thank you!
To the point.
I am brainstorming about fall arrangements for an upcoming event where the client would like some personality added to the centerpieces. They need to be handsome. The client’s son loves beer and the outdoors so I am doing my best to locate some hops for these “scrumptious” arrangements.
Meanwhile, I’ll share some hops inspiration with you and wish you a very lazy Labor day weekend.
CHEERS!
