This morning I thought I was in heaven.
These Limelight Hydrangeas just a few steps from the tennis courts caught me completely off guard.
Something about plants that I just want to snip–for nearly 40 years I’ve had this problem.
I do ask permission these days since I am not as slick about it as I used to be!
A good cause.
I can’t imagine what it is like to have a child in the hospital nor
having to stay indefinitely away from my home.
If I did though, there would be flowers or foliage or plants.
Gina volunteered our garden club, Pine Needle Garden Club of Augusta,
to provide some sort of decor for the dining tables at the Ronald McDonald House.
After we decorated a Christmas tree there as part of the Augusta Council of Garden Clubs Christmas tree project, Gina was convinced the families would love more cheer on the dining tables.
So we did.
Last week it was one or two stems of the cute little umbrella plants.
This week–Limelight Hydrangeas.
They are so yummy looking that the lime green panicles remind me of Margaritas!
What a refreshing plant to have in your landscape. Or that of a friend.–or near the courts!!
Full sun, low maintenance.
Simple little arrangements. Â People who work at RMH always thank us for the flowers.
Today one gal asked if we could suggest something for the common areas upstairs.
Gina and I agreed on succulents and some of the low light/low maintenance house plants which we will look
in to for next weeks flower change up.
We are all benefitting from this little project.
Garden Club.
Ronald McDonald House peeps.
Gina and I get to visit and feel that we have made someone smile with our weekly flower delivery.
See you .

Would be glad to happy it up with zinnias sometime. Tell Gina Hi for me. Was on the original board 30 years ago and love the new house! Would need to know what size vases are available and how many arrangements might be enjoyed.

Nancy.
That would be great! We fill 16 small, 12 inch vases ( I am guessing that size) , the neck is about 2 inches across. I would think between 6-8 zinnia stems would fit in each vase. Would you be able to meet next Wednesday? If you would like to meet a Ronald McDonald House we could or somewhere at your convenience. I was hoping to have some flower growers volunteer their petals!! Gina and I have been filling the vases for the month of June and having a nice quiet time doing so together. I will tell her you said hello…Thanks! ML
