I am off to the farm this morning to weed weed weed. Hopefully, we’ve had some rain. Â I’ve been working on landscaping around our cabin. You may be familiar with Loropetalum, a popular shrub with many new varieties on the market. You’ve seen it with a purple-burgundy leaf with playful pink fringe blooms. Many use as a foundation plant around their house and trim it up formally. I planted at home as a welcome to our shed. Still waiting on the tips on either side to touch, creating an archway. I am not big on formal!
I am planting Lorapetalum ‘Emerald Snow’ in front of the cabin. This low growing variety bears a white fringe bloom which will add some “light” to the north side.
Full farm report Sunday.
see you.

We love lorapetalum but didn’t know about the white. I’m sure you know about the dwarf crape myrtles they have now. We love them too. Our color is called Razzle Dazzle, it’s a dark vibrant pink and they bloom most of the summer. However they are hard to find, we have been looking for some more. Do you happen to know a source?
