We are in Week 6 of our Supper Menu Challenge. You are in a groove now. Kids in school, activity schedules are set, and your meals for the week are planned. Right? This month we will focus on side dishes. The all important veggies and fruit that  sometimes don’t make the plate! The USDA has ditched the old food pyramid, and replaced it with an actual plate. You can visualize how much of each food group is recommended. Notice how large the vegetable section is…let’s work on that. There are several excellent choices for your garden, too. You can grow carrots, lettuce, Asian greens, beets, spinach, English peas, mustard greens, kale, chard- all healthy and tasty fresh out of your yard.
Here is my menu for the week:
Sunday: Halibut, cole slaw with walnuts and apples, fries(ugh).
Monday: Steak and ravioli with steamed green beans, salad & fresh fruit
Tuesday: Â Chicken and Orzo bake, broccoli, salad.
Wednesday: Â Baked burgers, WW Tuscan Potatoes and Pepper packets, green beans, fresh fruit
Thursday: Â Â Chicken Curry from Oxygen magazine, Â steamed squash and bell pepper, dessert Marianna’s choice
Friday: Â Â out
Saturday: Â Weight Watchers Citrus Beef Stir Fry with carrots. Sam Choice Dessert
Sunday: Pork Loin roast, sweet potato fries, pan saute mixed greens.
see you.
