You may think I am talking about your Christmas list. Actually the question was posed a Mass this past Sunday. Advent is the season in which we prepare for the coming of the Lord. With all the forecasts of doom and the end of the world, we really don’t know when this will happen, so our hearts should be in order. Father Scott Winchel explained to me that the “end of the world” has been prophesied for thousands of years, but hasn’t happened yet! The question is- are you ready?

Advent is a season of reflection and penance. A time designated to search deep into our souls for what we are doing right and what we may improve in the coming year.

“Be watchful!  Be alert!  You do not know when the time will come” (Mark 13: 33).
