Morning Mimi Update.
Mama was up walking around with her noisy cane this morning around 3. Fortunately, I can hear a mosquito suck blood, so I got up to assist her to the bathroom. She cannot remember doctors orders! I am going to attempt re-training her schedule today with every four hour trips up for personal needs regardless! She had a small bowl of oatmeal this morning, a swig or two of coffee and OJ. Â She requested some of my Lady Peas with rice and “pot liquor” for lunch.
I am scheduled for torture this morning at 11, and beyond excited. Hopefully, I can roll out of bed tomorrow for some round robin tennis. Awaiting Home Health Care Assessment and Physical Therapy. I rolled mama to bathroom yesterday in Sam’s rolling office chair. Makes a wonderful “wheelchair”, but don’t depend on that for stability! She’s pretty handy with her pink cane, but Gizmo won’t come around when that thing is near.
Caregiving is definitely not easy, but thankful that mama is here. The ride back and forth to the hospital was draining both time and energy. Still working on creating a room for mama in Marianna’s old bedroom. We brought her sofa over and today I will transport her TV and Cable box. Looking for a strong dude to help me bring a chair and ottoman over here too. This will be her own little den just like the one at her house. She has slept on a sofa for 20 years. Why stop now?!
I am focusing on my own nutrition today. Planning meals is mandatory so I don’t get off track with good eating habits. Having good stuff here means less temptation to grab Sam’s box of Whoppers and gobble them down! I suppose I’ll be using this blog/web site as a hub for Mimi details, and all that goes along with this phase in our lives.
Any comments, criticism or feedback would be fondly appreciated.
see you.

Give my love to Mimi. I know she is glad and grateful to have you look after her while she is not 100%. And if I remember correctly, Clark will be there next week?
Hugs to you all. Alli and Lena are coming to spend the night so let me know if Mimi feels up to Skyping.

I remember the days I took care of my sweet mama 4 years ago when we first moved into this house…..very hard and challenging days but so worth it to have her with me….continued prayers for you!!!

Seriously, how could there be any criticism for BNE – Best Nurse Ever – you can put those initials behind your name now! I am glad you are taking care of yourself too but I don’t get the connection between having good food in the house and not eating the whole box of whoppers. . . . .
Continuing prayers for both of you.

Keeping prayers coming for strength for you and for your mother. Loved your comments about the little den and her sofa…nothing like a touch of familiar surroundings. Take care…
