Many of the shrubs in our yard are from our wonderful neighbors. Jim, a camellia expert, has several hundred specimens in his yard. He propagates them to share with others, including me. Another neighbor, Arlene, often rolls her dolly to my house leaving a pot of bulbs or, like today, a Cassia Tree. This is the THIRD Cassia Arlene has shared with me. I think her secret is to cover the base of the tree with leaves during winter. Although this winter if I had owned a Cassia tree, it probably would have survived our mild temperatures.
Cassia has beautiful golden blooms in the fall. If you are here for the Herb Workshop in September, you might catch the blooms!
Do you have a Cassia? Where does it grow best?
see you  and thank you Arlene!
