Masters Week Wrap Up
Slow Living
I hope you had a great Masters Week!
A week away makes coming home extra special.
I’d like to share a bit about what we did and some easy supper recipe ideas
we are trying this week. Also, there is a video of me trying to explain how to plop snapdragons into water!
We hung out at our place in the country, visited with friends and pampered Felix the Farm Cat.
The weather was cool enough to have one last fire in the sugar kettle.
We walked over to visit our neighbors.
I came to appreciate almost daily trips to the WalMart in Waynesboro
where there is a striking selection of succulents I just could not pass up!
The succulents were perfect for our farm table supper with friends.
The terracotta pots are now sitting at home in the east facing kitchen window where they will have the most light.
Spring Garden Walk Through
Home again!
The best part about coming home is the first garden walk through.
This is heaven before hell sets in in Augusta!
We have hot and very humid summers here which makes it tough to keep plants alive
and looking as youthful as they do right now.
The garden is cool, green and full of blooms.
Our snapdragons enjoyed the sunshine while we were away and started blooming wildly.
I snipped a handful this morning to enjoy inside. Here are some hints on snipping your snaps!
Easy Supper Recipe Ideas
Make Time for Gardening
Once Masters Week is over, April seems to melt in to May.
May is one of the busiest months even when the kids are away at college!
The to-do list is still there, the days seem shorter and I wish there were a few more hours in the day.
Here are a few easy supper recipe ideas we are trying this week from Paleo/Whole 30 blogs.
I printed each of them and stapled them to my list for the week.
It is easier for me to have a paper copy right there while I am cooking.
Planning meals and snacks frees up garden time in the evening.
Thai Coconut Chicken (Popular Paleo)
Honey Orange Beef Stir Fry With Sweet Potato Noodles and Kale (Food. Faith. Fitness)
Italian Turkey Meatball with Zucchini (County Living)
Chilaquiles Casserole (Eating Well)
Have a fabulous week.
PS>The Thai Coconut Chicken is delish!
