There are occasions when you want to make you and your guests feel special. My sister in law, Pia, impressed upon me years ago- if you are going to invite people over then exert a bit of effort. She meant cook the food yourself, don’t serve it from a tub. I took the lesson as “put something beautiful in at least one room to make it special.”
Here are a few tips to help you become a better “shopper” when it comes to flowers:
- get to know the flower department manager, the one who actually orders the flowers
- find out what days flowers are delivered to the store and approximate time
- ask if you can pre-order flowers you want for a special occasion
- if you don’t see what you need or need a few more stems, ask if there is more “in the back”
Next week I’ll have a short video clip of building a couture bouquet with grocery store flowers!
Really.
see you
