Halloween. Choose a Theme.
Do you remember this movie? Â I was about 7 when I first watched Alfred Hitchcock’s movie, “The Birds”. Scary. Birds coming through the chimney and plucking out eyeballs. YIKES. Â Now that I am a bit older and tougher, I rely on themes such as this one for Halloween. If you are trying to find the black crows in Augusta, just give up. I have all of them! Â My spin on “The Birds” for Halloween involves the black birds or crows, large dead branches on which we attach the crows.
A black iron urn is filled with Oasis foam, then stuffed with dead branches before adding the scary black crows. The ornate arms on the urn add to the creepiness! Cover your oasis or whatever you use to secure the branches with sheet moss or Spanish moss.
What a great costume too! So, if you are finding it difficult to decide how to add a little spook to your decor, try using a theme. Bugs, birds, ghosts, spiders, sculls—the scarier, the better!
see you
