Time for a cool drink- something on ice and with a bold flavor. I found this recipe for Iced Green Tea Limeade in Better Nutrition’s ‘nourish & heal’ publication. Grabbed from grocery store magazine rack. The article is titled “7 Ways to BOOST Your Energy”. Lately, I’ve noticed a drop in energy about 2 hours after my a.m. workout and errand running so I thought I would give this a try. Green tea is noted for its EGCG which stirs up fat burning and creates energy boosting metabolism. Â The article says you can make with Match tea, too. May give that a shot after I finish this batch!
Here is the recipe and my minimal adaptation…
Iced Green Tea Limeade
4 cups water
4 lemon green tea bags BIGELOW
1/4 cup raw honey, or to taste
1 Tablespoon or to taste-ginger juice from ginger root
Juice of 3 limes
Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Add tea bags and steep for about 10-15 mins. I like strong tea, so I let it sit for probably 20 minutes! Remove tea bags, stir in honey to taste. Then lime and ginger juice.
I used a grater to extract the juice of the ginger.
You can pour this into a pitcher with a batch of ice and serve as you like OR what I did was put concentrate in small container and served individually with a bit of ice.
If you have your Martha on, plop a mint sprig in there too!
Now, about the gin and vodka….
Cheers.
Sounds so good!
