Last month’s  post, Grocery Store Couture , revealed tips on buying flowers at the grocery store: getting familiar with when the flowers are delivered, becoming chummy with the flower department manager, and ordering ahead from the floral department. This week, we’re looking at incorporating what is in your yard to make a table bouquet.  The garden is winding down for fall, but I’ll bet there are plants you might not think would “go” in a bouquet.
All the buzz is about “organic”. Even in the floral design world. Not only buying organic material(flowers, containers, etc.) but thinking organic in your design method! Â Huh?
More designers and clients are requesting the look of
“I did this myself”= organic!
Here are a few ideas to get started.
- Use herbs that are beginning to flower–oregano, basil, and chives
- Magnolia trees are showing their seed pods- perfect for arrangements
- Okra pods in arrangements make great conversation starters
- Beautyberry or any berries!
