We have escaped my hometown for a few days of relaxation and time with good friends.Based on the book selection and decor, the townhouse we are renting belongs to a middle aged or older gentleman. I picked up a book, Half-Time, and began reading yesterday. Bob Buford wrote the book, and he asks you to stop and take account of where you are now in life, “half-time”, in order to re-focus and set course for the second half.
I sense that someone put this book here for me. Buford asks me to think about my epitaph. What do I want to leave behind when I die? That is strong. I’ll get there, not today!
Buford also clearly points out that time management is critical for those of us who have lots to accomplish. I like the way he packages the day in blocks…
8 hours for sleep
8 hours for work
8 hours for self(exercise,reading,etc)
This time blocking forces me to prioritize my day and my life…all the rest is trimmed off.I am re-working what I do and how I do it by looking at time from this perspective. Off to read more.
See you.
