I always have hopes to concoct a new signature drink when we have friends over, but sometimes the day passes too quickly. The Lemon Basil Martini is our standby in the summer months since I almost always have lemons on hand and there is definitely basil growing in the garden! My friend Neisha loves the Lemon Basil Martini because it is so refreshing and it won’t put your knees to the floor after just one glass! What is your favorite garden inspired drink?
Here is Robert’s tested recipe. He measures, I don’t. (Lawyers.)
Lemon Basil Martini
1 to 1.5 ounces of Vodka
one half ounce Simple Syrup
1 ounce of fresh lemon juice
3 to 5 fresh basil leaves
Muddle or bruise basil leaves to release flavor. Place leaves in martini shaker then vodka, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Add ice. Shake. Pour into martini glass. Easy. Enjoy.
