“You pile up enough tomorrows, and you’ll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to make today worth remembering.”———– Harold Hill, Music Man
I loved this quote from the musical ‘Music Man’ and it applies in all areas of life, including our garden planning. We just enjoyed a few inches of snow fall here in Augusta. These cold days are perfect for planning the spring garden. Let’s start that spring garden.
It is time to make our lists and order the seeds we want to experiment with this year. The first thing I do is look at the University of Georgia’s Vegetable Planting Chart to create a list of vegetables I know my family will eat. Here is the list of what we can plant now in Zone 7b/8a.
Look at this list!
asparagus               lettuce
cabbage                mustard
carrot                   onions
collards                 peas
kale/chard               Irish potatoes
radish                  spinach
turnips
What will you and your family eat from this list?
Post your list here in the comment section and let’s get started on tomorrow’s garden, today.
I’ll have a Pinterest Board filled with recipes for using our early spring harvest!

Also time to get your soil tested. Take samples to the Extension Office!
