I harvested a bunch of fresh basil this morning. I also had lots of walnuts left over from a party this weekend which was a great addition to the first walnut pesto of  the season!
Since the kids are away for at least 2 weeks, I am experimenting with recipes I would not make if cooking for them! I stumbled on to the Closet Kitchen website(check it out!) and found some very tempting recipe ideas including this Pesto Chicken Bruschetta Tart. Fortunately, we had grilled chicken, fresh white eggplant and ripe juicy tomatoes on hand, so the only store trip made was for the Phyllo sheets.
